Chinthaka Kodikara, who was born on 28 November 1982, lost his hearing ability when he was only 05 years old and is suffering from “profound hearing loss”.

The doctor decided that he is incurable and therefore he was assigned to a special rehabilitation school.

He is the only person with hearing disability who got grade “A” passes for all the subjects in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (This examination is equivalent to the GCE A/L in London) in Sri Lanka.

He is the only person with hearing disability who became among the top ten of the District in the GCE A/L.

He is the only person with hearing disability who became a passed finalist at the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka.

He is the only person with hearing disability who is following the final stage of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants (ICA) of Sri Lanka. (This is equivalent to the Chartered Accountants of United Kingdom -ACCA).

At present he is a graduate (Honours Degree) at the University of Colombo offering the subjects Economics, Social Science and International Relations.

Also, he is studying for his Master of Social Science (MSSc) degree in the University of Kelaniya.

He is the one and only deaf lyricist in Sri Lanka.

He is a writer of teachers’ guides to the school teachers in Sri Lanka.

Even though he was incurable before 20 years ago…….
Doctors say that he will be curable with the help of modern scientific development……..
